Detailed Study for Port Masterplan

In recent years the Autonomous Port of Lomé experienced considerable growth in cargo handling volumes, particularly in containers and bulk. These activities had overpassed the port infrastructures at a point where the port was threatened to lose market shares to neighbouring ports. 

On its own initiative, the financial joint-venture between the Autonomous Port of Lomé and the World Bank, charged Inros Lackner with the detailed study of a new Port Masterplan. The Masterplan gave a forecast of 15 years up until 2030 with three different development phases. The masterplan foresaw and improvement to of the port facilities, an analysis of PPP Projects and BOT Concessions for port services, new arranged land occupancies of 800ha for a free commercial zone and a free industrial zone and a new road and railway network, easing the transportation of goods.
