A unique project in Germany
The railway mega-hub facility in Lehrte, close to Hanover, is a unique project in Germany. It is to be constructed at the intersection of the north-south and east-west freight-traffic routes. The new mega hub will optimise cargo handling and exchange, enabling more cargo to be transported by rail. The costly, time-consuming shunting of freight cars that is still necessary today will then no longer be required. Inros Lackner has been accompanying the project for over ten years now, and is responsible for:
