Hue Centre Point and Lotus Park

PROJECT INFORMATION IN SHORT: Design of a new Neighborhood area of 22 ha between the Old City Centre of Hue and the New Seaside Development (Thuan An) of Hue including a public park and high-rise residential area.
The “Hue Center Point” project combines a highrise residential area and a public park which are divided by a 4-lane road. Inros Lackner Vietnam was commissioned to develop two design alternatives for this project integrating typical Hue features such as symmetry, secret gardens and ancient imperial aesthetics into 1. contemporary park with artistic studios, retail, a museum island, a traditional performance center and a small scale marina with food and beverage outlets and 2. high efficient residential areas with apartment blocks, shop house and low rise residential buildings. Both design alternatives succeeded to create a lively typical Hue neighborhood.
A pedestrian connection of these two areas was designed by several subterranean pathways for the residents for strolling into the Lotus park which has been designed as a “Sponge Park” to balance different water levels from the Nhu Y River.
